For 30 years, Jaipur Rugs Company's promoter Mr. Nand Kishore Chaudhary has spent his career span feeling the pulse of the Indian Weaver. The company's aim is to lend the benefits and recognition of this trade to its
rightful owner-the Indian Weaver. Each and every weaver associated with us is considered a family member and hence given equal importance like any other family member. This provides the sense of dignity to our weavers boosting their morale, thereby enhancing their productivity skills, bringing prosperity to their homes and of course the company as a whole. Our company encourages self help and hence allow complete freedom to our weavers to create a masterpiece.
Every member of the family is involved in carpet weaving, leaving aside the children. Its more like a whole village working together at one carpet. All the villagers, young and old, group together in one large area and is divided into several groups. They either sit or stand on the floor in an order previously known and determined by tradition. As carpet weaning is a tradition handed over from one generation to another, all the weavers are experts in their own field. Each group then begins its own work. Some pick splinters, stones out of the wool. One group beats out the wool with sticks. A third group combs the wool. The fourth group spins. Others dyes the wool. The sixth or maybe the twenty-sixth weaves the actual carpet. The best thing in the entire process is that there is complete coordination of each and every weavers and each of them enjoys its own traditional work. All the movements of all the artisans engaged in different work are like one movement in one and the same rhythm.
