Item Code : RUG1077888

Jagdish and Sarvani Devi have been married since 30 years. While Jagdish has been weaving since 41 years, Sarvani Devi has been weaving since 29 years. They have 3 daughters who are married and a son who is pursuing MBBS from a college in Indore. They say that weaving has provided them with financial stability, happiness and content.

The rug has been designed by a weaver couple from a small village named Takarda. Inspired by the creativity of their son who drew the rug pattern on a paper, the couple has beautifully designed the vibrant color schemed rug. He drew the rug pattern on paper and inspired his parents to weave. The couple has knotted motifs inspired by several natural elements such as flowers, leaves, trees and the sun which render a natural aesthetic to this hand-curated art-piece. Reinterpretation of the houses in the couple’s neighborhood can also be seen on the rug and these have been harmonized by the weavers with all the other patterns.

To the owner of the rug
“This is our son’s favorite out of all our creations, and we hope it becomes yours too.”
