Harinarayan and has wife Champa Devi are a happy couple with 2 daughters, a son, 5 goats and 2 baby goats in their home at Aaspura village of Rajasthan. While the eldest daughter is married, the younger children are pursuing BA in education. The couple has been weaving for more than 2 decades now but has never gotten a chance to make their own design. Excited to have this opportunity, the couple has now woven multiple designs for artisan collection.
Biscuit - Balery

Champa Ji has woven this rug along with her husband Harinarayan. The rug motifs were inspired by vibrantly patterned household articles. Imagine sitting out in a garden on a summer night and you have the inspiration of this rug- from the yellow and pumpkin background drawn from a family blanket to the moon like motifs drawn from the design of her pots. The dark red and black motifs against pumpkin background are inspired by the design made on the wall of the family home, around the door. Their son believed that it is a beautiful pattern that must form part of the rug and thus, he drew the same on the map grid for his parents to weave. The various motifs of triangles in golden shades against blue ground, are inspired by Champa Devi’s sarees.
The couple was overwhelmed to see their final rug and wish the best for the person who would own it.
